A Nigerian pastor has come to the defense of Pastor Chris Okafor following actress Doris Obama’s public claim of an alleged romantic relationship with him. Addressing critics who question why a pastor would sleep with a church member, he argued that the same question should be asked of the member involved.
He described those circulating Doris Obama’s videos as enemies of the church who are determined to see it collapse. According to him, such individuals do not genuinely love Jesus but are instead seeking to scatter the congregation by attacking the shepherd.
The pastor further stated that the controversy would help Pastor Chris Okafor identify his true church members. He added that if the pastor had married the actress, the situation would not have attracted backlash, but because the relationship did not result in marriage, he is now being labeled as “fake.”
He also warned that the judgment faced by pastors is the same judgment members will face, insisting that no one is exempt, as it is the same hellfire for all. In his view, the situation simply reflects sinners criticizing others for committing different sins.
He concluded by saying that those pushing the allegations ultimately want churches shut down, urging the church to learn how to protect itself rather than joining outsiders in casting blame.
