Nollywood actress May Edochie has reacted to claims made by Chidi Uzoma, popularly known as Baba De Baba.
I reported that Baba De Baba posted a video saying Edochie was trying to harm him and his family. He also accused her of kidnapping his son.
In a statement, the actress’s lawyer confirmed that Baba De Baba was arrested on charges of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and other criminal offenses.
He revealed that the arrest followed two weeks of police surveillance.
The lawyer detailed how they lured him into the trap by posing as potential business partners. They engaged him in negotiations, making him believe there was a deal on the table.
According to the attorney, Baba De Baba allegedly demanded N10,000,000 along with a fee for each appearance, which they pretended to accept. When he arrived to sign the contract, he was taken into custody.
In his post, the lawyer stated that they filed a criminal petition against the comedian last month.
He further explained that the case against Baba De Baba includes two separate civil summonses, one issued by the Lagos High Court and the other by the Abuja High Court.
The lawyer said they would share the messages exchanged with the comedian before he was arrested.
